On the Heels of Tragedy

My last newsletter was titled “Letting Joy Be Our Compass”, discussing the idea of maintaining the trust of a child and cultivating creative joy no matter how things may appear to contradict our ability to do so. Nothing could be more poignant or relevant to address in a follow-up than the recent shootings in Ohio and Texas. How do we maintain trust in “divine order” when faced with these tragedies?

It is no one’s right or place, least of all mine, to cast judgment on anyone for the emotional reactions and responses felt when something like this occurs – again and again and again in our world.

All I can offer is my perspective with the hope that it will help some – or just one – find comfort. I ask you to consider that we are not alone in this world. I ask you to consider the bigger picture unfolding on our planet.

I ask you to consider that everything in creation is alive, including Earth, and that many other planets, galaxies, and star systems are also alive with intelligence. I ask you to consider that we live in a universe where multiple dimensions exist, and that, while other dimensions exist, we, as humans, are the keepers of the third dimension.

I ask you to consider that, as keepers of the third dimension, we bear a huge responsibility. I ask you to consider that there are those of a much higher intelligence who battle for our attention.   Some are of the light and offer their support without asserting their will. Some are of a lower vibration and seek to interfere by keeping us held hostage in a world where they maintain control over us.

I ask you to consider that, although those who seek to maintain control appear to have the upper hand they, and their agenda, will not prevail. I ask you to consider that the most insidious and powerful way they seek to control us is through our emotions. I ask you to consider that all emotions are vibration and that the highest one among them – cliché as it may sound – is love.

I ask you to consider that when you judge anyone – a friend, a colleague, a boss, a politician, or anyone you consider to be an enemy, you are contributing to the vibration of those who seek to maintain control through the emotions of fear, hatred, and outrage.

I ask you to consider that when you find it in your heart to love – a friend, a colleague, a boss, and yes, even a politician or a crazed and outraged shooter, despite the fact that they vehemently contradict and oppose your own worldview – you are contributing to the vibration of love we all so desperately seek and need in this world.

And finally – I ask you to consider finding ways to love yourself despite every mistake and vulnerability you may have felt or shown to others, despite every time you may have “blown it”, despite everything you perceive as a flaw within yourself.

You may ask of me, what right do I have to ask such things of you?

And my answer is – “none whatsoever”. I ask as one human being to another – to you. I ask because I wish to live in a world where divine order is the norm and divine justice always prevails. I ask because I wish to live in a world where love is the rule and not the exception.  And I ask because I would like to see you continue to live in my world.

Yours in harmony,

Jennifer
