Cancer Full Moon: Mother Lode of Revelation

The Cancer Full Moon taking place on Monday, January 17 at 6:48 pm EST is the first of the 2022 New Year, and it’s as intense as they come.

The conjunction of Pluto with the Sun, as well as asteroid Juno, representing contracts, commitments, and equality, tell the story of what we, as a human family, are having to come to terms with.

Venus Rx (retrograde) is looking back on all relationship contracts, material resources, and worthiness in every form.

With the Sun, Pluto, Juno, and Venus, all in Capricorn, the re-evaluation, and revelation, is taking place in virtually every manmade system around the globe that has affected each one of us in our individual lives.  As this full moon excavates our landscape for the underlying truth and original cause of our current insecurity, what no longer works is being purged from the face of the earth, thanks to Pluto.

It may not look or feel like it, but Pluto is our friend throughout this process, because it will not allow those systems that have undermined the integrity of the human soul to stay in power any longer.  It’s a purification process that we absolutely need if we are ever to heal and unite as one human family – a very “Cancerian” theme.

The USA Carries the Cancer Energy of “Mother”

As has been the case throughout the past few years, and probably since Pluto entered Capricorn, the USA is greatly impacted by, and instrumental in, the energies of this Cancer Full Moon.

With the USA’s Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter all in Cancer, the USA  truly is the “mother” which “births” other nations to live with greater security within their own homeland.

The ways in which this “mothering” has gone awry, will undoubtedly receive a course correction.  And since Pluto is the god of the underworld, much of the activity pertaining to this purging has been happening unbeknownst to much of humanity.  This full moon could indeed change all of that.

And there is no mistaking that when Pluto returns to its original position in the USA chart on February 22 ’22, at 27:33 Capricorn, we will know much more than we currently do.

Symbol of the “Great Mother” – Sedna and Ceres

A significant trine takes place in this full moon chart from Pluto, Sun, and Juno in Capricorn to Sedna and Ceres in Taurus.

Sedna represents the great mother of all life on land and sea, while Ceres is Demeter, who rescued her daughter Persephone from the Underworld.

Both symbolize the resurrection and transition from death to life, from underground to above ground, from being subjected to control, to moving toward freedom.

Nodal Shift into Scorpio-Taurus

Just a few days after the Cancer Full Moon, on January 19, we experience a Nodal Shift from Sagittarius-Gemini to Scorpio-Taurus.  This is monumentally significant…!  Pluto is the co-ruler of Scorpio and, with its conjunction to the Sun at the time of this full moon, this means that everything which has been hidden from humanity, is coming to light.

It is no coincidence that Venus rules the Taurus North Node, and occupies Capricorn alongside Pluto and the Sun.  Because it is retrograde, it’s causing us to reassess our “relationship” with power and control.

Where have we given our power away? Who have we trusted to take care of our resources?  Who have we unwittingly allowed to undermine our self-worth?  These are all questions worthy of our conscious effort at this time.

Sedna and Ceres Conjunct the North Node – Tsunami of Rebirth

The fact that Sedna and Ceres are both conjunct the North Node in Taurus is again no coincidence.  As previously mentioned, these two planets represent the mother of rebirth and resurrection.  Their conjunction to the North Node translates as fortuitous, not foreboding.

In Taurus we are moving toward the uncharted territory of peace and prosperity.  In my lifetime, and certainly throughout our collective history, there has never been a time without war somewhere in the world, and certainly too much unnecessary poverty.

The reasons for this are held within the secret doors of the Scorpio  South Node.  Now that Pluto, the ruler of the South Node is making its conjunction to the Sun, and making a return to the USA’s natal Pluto, this signifies the mother lode of all revelations.

The last time the nodes were in this position happened to coincide with the year Sedna was discovered.  At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I must repeat – this is no coincidence!!

Because Sedna’s orbit is so very long, 10,000-12,000 years, its position in the sky approximately 19 years ago at the time of its discovery, also conjoined the Taurus North Node.

Sedna seems to be saying to us, “I’ve been through the dark abyss of change and transformation, and I am offering you a lifeline!  To reach the Taurus fulfillment of peace and prosperity, it is necessary to surrender to these changes, purge the darkness, and transcend duality. Listen to my siren call and rise to the occasion!!”

Furthermore, in Sedna’s chart, Pluto and Venus, consummate rulers of the Scorpio-Taurus Nodes, are conjunct in Sagittarius (beliefs, faith) in the 5th house of JOY.  This is the realm where the innocent child is BORN.  Sedna’s chart also has LEO rising, the sign that rules the 5th house domain, emphasizing the need to look at life through the lens of the innocent child.

This Cancer Full Moon is reminding us of the Great Mother’s message.  It is intensely powerful, and instrumental in returning us to our mother’s arms.  We all must learn to trust life again as if through the eyes of a child.  And when we do, the Great Mother is there to calm, soothe, heal, and make us whole…again…as if for the first time.
